Acoustic resistance

Acoustic isolation

Acoustic resistance of materials is associated with the right of weight. The heavier the construction material, the better it insulates and dampens sound. In the case of walls made of AAC, it turns out that the porous structure of AAC gives this material a bonus of 2-3 decibels with respect to acoustic resistance, enhancing the acoustic resistance of building partitions compared to the materials of the same weight.

Walls of AAC were tested at the Acoustics Department of the Building Research Institute. On the basis of laboratory tests and obtained indicators of acoustic resistance adjusted by 2 dB, design values of acoustic resistance indicators RA1R and RA2R have been specified.

RA1R indicator refers to the internal partitions, since it is used to evaluate the partition’s resistance to a living noise, and the RA2R indicator refers to exterior partitions – it is used to evaluate the resistance of the partition to low-frequency (traffic) noise.
